What is a product-page variant?
A variant is a merchant-reviewed version of the product detail page. It can change responsive component order, gallery type, shipping-note type, option-selector type, and description type.
100 Rocks creates three starting variants after design extraction is ready. An unapproved variant cannot be used by Serving.
What must be ready before I review variants?
The storefront extraction and design tokens must be ready. Approval also requires current store-ownership and design-rights attestations.
If the page is locked, follow its link to Design and finish the missing extraction or attestation step.
How do I preview and review a variant?
Preview mode does not change the live storefront or create a shopper assignment.
- Open your project, then Experimentation.
- Open a variant card.
- Check Desktop, Tablet, and Mobile previews.
- Confirm that product media, options, price, shipping note, description, and add-to-cart controls remain clear.
- Return to the variant list when the review is complete.
How do I rename, approve, or revoke a variant?
Open the action menu on a variant card. You can rename, approve, or revoke the variant.
Approve only a design that you have reviewed at every breakpoint. Revoke it when it should no longer be eligible for a live assignment.
Creating a fourth variant or editing the generated variant specification is not currently available.
How does an approved variant reach the storefront?
Add the 100 Rocks Product Page or PDP Container block to the published Shopify product template. Then connect an active audience to the approved variant in Serving.
When no assignment applies, the block renders the published baseline or catalog default. Shopify Theme Editor does not offer a manual 100 Rocks variant picker.
Why is a variant missing from Serving?
Confirm that extraction is complete, the variant exists for the current project, its approval is active, and the page loaded without an error.
If a live page still shows the baseline, check the product-page block and the audience assignment in Troubleshooting.
